Day 1 - First question EVER!
Today's question is as follows:
Do you read for leisure, and if so, what type of literature do you leisurely read?
I enjoy historical fiction. My favorite ones are based on solid historical facts/archealogical finds that have a transgenerational "human" story built around them. Then again, there is something to be said about easy-reading like Sue Grafton or Janet Evonavich!
Mostly science fiction or fantasy. Recently I've discovered Terry Pratchett's Discworld series; I've been reading one of those every laundry day! I prefer worlds with a fleshed-out history and geography, and Discworld suits me in that respect. For sci-fi I enjoy classic works like those of Lester Del Rey and Ray Bradbury.
I'll read EVERYTHING. Currently b/c of grad school and my students' age groups, I'm reading a lot of young adult fiction. It's interesting. I'm encouraged b/c (at least with the stuff I'm reading)a good bit of YA fiction is featuring strong female characters. Anything is better than Bella Swan...

ReplyDeleteI love a good mystery. If I get caught up in the book I'm likely to read it cover to cover in a weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'm on a nonfiction kick...

ReplyDeleteI am currently a big fan of Neil Gaimen. I just finished The Graveyard Book. It is for young adults, but it is probably one of my favorites.
